Steel Wheel Technologies for the New Mobility Era

Shared mobility, connected vehicles and last-mile delivery are transforming the automotive industry. In this environment, steel wheel solutions with a lower carbon footprint, operational efficiency and cost advantages are becoming increasingly important.

Maxion Wheels develops innovative steel wheel technologies that meet changing OEM expectations. With modern design, aerodynamic solutions and customizable cover systems, steel wheels are evolving beyond durability into efficient, aesthetic mobility solutions.

Advanced Engineering for Lower Emissions

A Fast-Track Solution for Reducing Greenhouse Gas Emissions

Developed in line with low-carbon mobility goals, ultra-low-CO₂ steel wheel solutions help shape next-generation mobility through sustainable materials and renewable-energysupported manufacturing.

Strategic partnerships for green steel and an energy-efficiency-focused production approach significantly reduce the carbon footprint of steel wheels, helping build a more sustainable mobility ecosystem.

Greater Efficiency in Every Kilometer

In commercial and urban mobility, where every kilometer matters, these steel wheel solutions help improve range, optimize total cost of ownership and increase fleet efficiency.

By combining durability, lower carbon emissions, cost advantages and long-lasting performance, we offer customers a reliable, high-value partnership for their transition to sustainable mobility.

A Clear Path Toward Carbon-Neutral Mobility

Phasing out affordable but high-emission materials is a major challenge for the automotive industry. Maxion Wheels supports vehicle manufacturers that are taking the first steps toward lower-carbon alternatives.

Until now, the focus has largely been on new premium electric vehicle models and platforms. However, not all fleets can become fully electric, so many organizations are seeking more accessible ways to reduce their CO₂ footprint and demonstrate climate commitments through concrete action.

For brands pursuing these commitments, partnering with suppliers that can provide green steel grades suitable for wheel production is a strategic advantage.

Material Selection Is Critical
for Carbon-Neutral Wheels

Renewable energy can reduce a wheel’s CO₂ footprint, but the greatest opportunity lies in emission-intensive raw materials, which account for approximately 75–85% of a wheel’s total CO₂ footprint.

Primary aluminum has the highest CO₂-equivalent emissions, ranging from 3.5 to 25 kg CO₂ per kilogram depending on the energy source.
By comparison, primary steel production emits approximately 2 to 2.5 kg CO₂ per kilogram.
